Planning for Engagement
Directions: Think about a lesson or unit of study you have coming up that you would like to make more engaging for online or in person learning.
What is a lesson/unit you have coming up that we can rework for engagement?
What are the objectives we want to focus on?
What do you usually do?
What engagement do you want to have? Not what technology tool do you want to use, what do you want to happen?
Will the engagement be different online vs in person? How and why?
How will you know that you have achieved the engagement you were seeking? What will it look like?
What technology tool(s) might you use to achieve your goal?
What will you need in order to use the tool?
What will your students need in order to use the tool?
Will you need assistance from someone else, like admin, curriculum coordinator, technology coach, or IT support? What help is needed? When will you need the help? Make sure you create a calendar invite to ensure they are able to help when needed.
How will you set students up for success?
Being prepared means we know that technology may not work in the moment, what will you do if it doesn’t work? What’s your backup plan?
