Goldilocks and the Three Bears
So I saw this very cute cooking beds for bears on Instagram and shared it with my cousins. Jessica reached out and we talked about bow to turn this into STEAM lessons. So here is what I thought about for Goldilocks STEM lessons and beyond.
Science
Baking beds
Temperatures for baking
Safety of Temperatures- what is safe for bath and for soup, etc
Technology
Create commercials for the Just Right Bed
Research and Compare/Contrast different types of bears
Fat Bear voting on NatGeo
Engineering
Build soft, hard, and just right beds
Materials: Lego, Cotton balls, Cardboard, Cloth, Paper, Popsicle Sticks, Toilet paper rolls, other things around the classroom
Build chairs to hold specific weights
Arts
Design bedding for the bears
Chair cushions
Design and make clay bowls for porridge
Math
Shapes needed for baking
Measurements for baking
Nonstandard measurement: Beds two bears wide and two bears long
SEL
How does Goldilocks feel?
How do the bears feel?
How to say sorry when you didn’t mean to hurt someone.
Manners (Do we just go into people's houses uninvited?)
Reading/Writing
https://americanliterature.com/childrens-stories/goldilocks-and-the-three-bears
Compare/ Contrast different Goldilocks stories
https://storiesbystorie.com/different-versions-of-goldilocks-and-the-three-bears/
Write a letter from Goldilocks to the bears apologizing for her mistakes.
Social Studies

Any other ideas?
